Welcome all of our new recreational and competitive gymnasts who started up at SCATS alongside a new school year! Another warm welcome (back) we’d like to extend is to an looongtime member of the SCATS family, who has returned to coach on our competitive Girls Team staff. Richard Gishi spent many great years coaching both Elite and Junior Olympic athletes at SCATS in the 1980’s and 90’s before finding additional success as an NCAA coach of the then-powerhouse Cal State Fullerton Women’s Gymnastics Team. Gishi was also instrumental in helping to develop various programs at clubs in the area over the last two decades and has been an integral part of elevating SoCal gymnastics to the prestigious level it has reached, and has helped maintain those standards with his knowledge and expertise.
We are VERY excited to have Richard back home with us here at SCATS and look forward to the tremendous value he brings to our competitve program with both his coaching and character.
