Congratulations to SCATS’ own Danny Yoon, Josh Montes, Grant Guerrero, Ezrael Orlino, Finley Chin, Wade Nelson, Elias Orlino and Roy Waletzki for capping off a hard-fought season by advancing to National Champs in Oklahoma.  The 8 boys put on a strong showing across levels 8 through 10 in both the Junior Olympic and Junior Elite classifications against the best of the best across the United States.

Among the many highlights, Danny competed as a Jr. Elite for the second time at level 10, while Wade, Roy and Finley all pulled off the remarkable feat of qualifying as Jr. Elites at level 8, and in the youngest two age divisions at that. Roy took 7th on pommel horse out of 44 boys in his division with Finley at #11 of 52 on the event in his.

Wade stunned the Junior Elite competition, teammates, and crowd alike, going 9th on both high bar and all around. The latter was propped up by a strong performance on floor, which was 5 hundredths of a point behind the bronze finisher.

Not to bury a lede, but Grant grabbed the silver medal on rings at Nationals. He also took 7th on pommel and a stunning 6th all around out of 44 boys!  This was alongside teammate Ezrael Orlino, who like Wade, finished just 5 hundredths of a point behind the bronze medalist, but on Lev. 9 high bar.

AWESOME job, guys. We’re infinitely proud of your hard work and achievements. Way to represent SCATS!
